In this role Nathan led some 400 staff across Australia, India & the Philippines, delivering the managed service and product based service desk offerings to the enterprise & government segment.

Nathan has been specifically focussed on continuous improvement, aligning those global operations to deliver a consistent customer experience, based on standardised ITIL aligned processes. For his efforts, Nathan was twice recognised by the Customer Service Institute of Australia in their Annual Excellence Awards.

Since April, Nathan has been leading the Change Optimisation & Readiness function in Telstra Retail’s Global Contact Centres, providing initiative design, governance, project management, communications, & training support to the 12000+ agents servicing Telstra’s Consumer & Small Business segments. Este Darin-Cooper is the Director of Regulation and Strategy at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Este leads the section responsible for the OAIC’s strategic policy response to privacy issues, as well as the OAIC’s proactive regulation, including Commissioner initiated investigations and data breach notifications. Este played a key role in implementing significant reforms to the Privacy Act that commenced in March 2014, and continues to advise the public and private sector on emerging privacy issues.

Prior to joining the then Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) in 2010, Este worked as a lawyer at major law firms providing advice to the financial sector on regulatory issues, including privacy and consumer credit.

Dori Miller is the Business Design Manager in Telstra’s Design Practice, a team of talented individuals who are passionate about elevating the quality of design and customer experience. She has 21 years experience in design and design research. In her current position she is exploring how design thinking can make a difference in large organisations by re-imagining the way we innovate and solve complex problems. She is leading the Design Thinking movement and is rolling out an education program to turn everyone at Telstra into a Design Thinker.

Before coming to Australia, Dori worked in the US in both consulting and in-house design roles. As Interaction Design consultant at IBM, she designed a chat solution for GE and conducted research for the Florida House of Representatives. She worked extensively with Microsoft for different projects ranging from call centre support applications, technical support and community portals, and sales management applications. She has a Masters in Design and has taught design courses at university.

Dori has a passion for problem solving and loves big challenges. Being an avid swimmer, she has crossed the English Channel 5 times and recently became the 27th person to complete a two-way English Channel swim. She is looking for the next big challenge!

Tony Nash started his first internet business in 1996. He has been working with his brother, sister and brother-in-law since 1998. He started Booktopia on a $10 per day budget back in February 2004. It took 3 days to sell the first book. Eleven years on Booktopia now sells one product every 8 seconds. The business has had no external investment. In 2007 it started stocking its first title. There are now 102,000 titles and 600,000 units in stock ready-to-ship.

Seven years ago Booktopia was based in 450 square metres of office and warehouse. In 2014 the company moved to a new Headquarters and Distribution Centre with a floor space of 10,000 square metres investing in millions of dollars of automation. The business currently employs 100 people.

In 2015 Booktopia made two acquisitions, Angus & Robertson Bookworld and Dirt Cheap Cameras. The combined businesses will take revenues for FY2016 to $90 million. In 2014 Booktopia won the Telstra Medium Sized Business of the year award for NSW and became the first ever company to make the BRW Fast 100 for six years straight from 2009 to 2014. It also won the Smart Company Community Award for its philanthropic program supporting indigenous literacy, writers’ festivals and readers’ conferences.
