Site Visit A: Visit to Monash University Microgrid at the Clayton Campus

As part of an ambitious goal to be emissions free by 2030, Monash University is partnering with ARENA and Indra Australia to create a new microgrid at the university’s 57 year old Clayton campus. This microgrid trial will help transition Monash University to run entirely off renewables by 2030 and achieve net zero emissions by then. This site tour will demonstrate how Monash uses intelligent controls,  renewable energy sources and edge computing to monitor and control distributed grid elements in real-time and optimize when and how energy is used across the campus.

BatTRI-Hub is a unique, world class research and innovation centre focused on advanced battery prototyping and the commercialisation of energy storage technologies driven by Deakin University and CSIRO.
