Dr. Er Meng Joo is a highly sought-after Thought Leader on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and had been invited to deliver more than 60 keynote sessions in global AI conferences including the World Congress on Computation Intelligence (Brisbane) and International Symposium on Extreme Learning Machine (Singapore). Some of his clients consulted include Hewlett Packard, Rockwell Automation, ST Dynamics, ST Kinetics, Growth Venture, Techsource and more. In addition, Dr. Er was bestowed the Web of Science Top 1 % Best Cited Paper and the Elsevier Top 20 Best Cited Paper Award in 2007 and 2008 respectively. In recognition of the significant and impactful contributions to Singapore’s development by his research projects, Dr. Er won the Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award twice (2011 and 2015).

 

Dr. Er is currently a full Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He also served as the Founding Director of Renaissance Engineering Programme, as well as Editor-in-Chief of Transactions on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence and the International Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications.

 

Dr. Er has received multiple teaching awards including Teacher of the Year Award (1999), Teaching Excellence Award (2008), Most Zealous Professor of the Year Award (2009) and Outstanding Mentor Award (2014). In addition, he has authored five renown AI-related books including Dynamic Fuzzy Neural Networks: Architectures, Algorithms and Applications, Engineering Mathematics with Real-World Applications, Theory and Novel Applications of Machine Learning, New Trends in Technology: Control, Management, Computational Intelligence and Network Systems and New Trends in Technology: Devices, Computer, Communication and Industrial Systems.
