John Man, Business Process Transformation Champion

 

John Man is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Business Process Transformation Champion where his primary expertise is in organizational performance and excellence. John enables managers and leaders to learn and apply tested methods that impact on the productivity of the organization and the quality of products and services delivered to stakeholders. He also deploys systems and structures in the work place that impact on business performance and process improvement and coach management teams to complete projects that implement value added changes in the organization.

 

As the principal director of Smart Process International (SPI), John act as a Business Process Transformation Lead. Besides that, he is the fellow of World Academy of Productivity Science and Six Sigma Society of Hong Kong. He has also been awarded as Outstanding Partner Lean Six Sigma by the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

 

John’s capabilities are based on more than 20 years of training and consulting work in the Asia Pacific Region. Through the exposure gained, he has refined the approaches and methods that enable people and organizations to achieve higher levels of work place performance and quality of work life.

This course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted CPD guidelines. On average, this executive program contributes 16 hours towards your CPD.

Program Summary

Six Sigma is a management improvement philosophy that continually strives for perfection. It focuses on reducing process variations to deliver consistent, measurable and improved results through the disciplined use of data-driven decision making. Today, Six Sigma has been successfully adopted by two-thirds of Fortune 500 companies to achieve world-class levels of quality in products and services. This comprehensive 2-day Yellow Belt Certification program aims to provide you with an introductory knowledge of Six Sigma, its tools and involvement required in implementing it. Participants will also discover the far reaching benefits of Six Sigma, and will be equipped with the skills to improve processes, reduce costs and ensure an incremental improvement in quality in your organization. You will be engaged in extensive hands-on simulations and projects that will aid in your preparation for the final examination.

 

At the end of 2 days, you will become a Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt, which you can use in your resume and business card. On top of that, you can also earn a total of 16 CPD hours. All elements conducted in the program comply fully with the industry-accepted standards of excellence, and the certification will be recognized internationally as a hard-earned symbol of achievement accredited by the prestigious Council for Six Sigma Certification.

Day 1

Session 1: Fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma

  • Structured approach for:
    • Process improvements using the DMAIC thinking cycle
    • Process redesign using the DMADV thinking cycle
  • Role and participation in project teams
  • Lean and Six Sigma orientation for process analysis

 

Session 2: The Need for Robust and Capable Performance

  • Key customer value drivers for project focus
  • Data presentation and variation analysis methods
  • Project selection and project charter requirements

 

Session 3: Establish Process Performance Baselines

  • Process mapping and performance level analysis
  • Measurements and statistical analysis for bottleneck validation
  • Process capability analysis to validate baselines

 

Project Exercise 1

Complete the Define and Measure plhases for an improvement opportunity

 

 

Day 2

Session 4: Validate ‘Root’ Causes and Develop Solutions

  • Cause and effect analysis
  • Measurements and statistical analysis for root cause validation
  • Generate innovative solutions to overcome root causes (lean methods)
  • Implementation plans for possible solutions

 

Session 5: Evaluate Innovative Solutions and Formalize New Performance Levels   

  • Solution implementation and tracking
  • Measurements and statistical analysis for solution evaluation
  • Process standardization and control plans to formalize improved or redesigned process

 

Session 6: Six Sigma Yellow Belt Exam

 

Project Exercise 2

Complete the Analyze, Implement and Control phases for the improvement opportunity
