John Man is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Business Process Transformation Champion where his primary expertise is in organizational performance and excellence. John enables managers and leaders to learn and apply tested methods that impact on the productivity of the organization and the quality of products and services delivered to stakeholders. He also deploys systems and structures in the work place that impact on business performance and process improvement and coach management teams to complete projects that implement value added changes in the organization

 

As the principal director of Smart Process International (SPI), John act as a Business Process Transformation Lead. Besides that, he is the fellow of World Academy of Productivity Science and Six Sigma Society of Hong Kong. He has also been awarded as Outstanding Partner Lean Six Sigma by the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

 

John’s capabilities are based on more than 20 years of training and consulting work in the Asia Pacific Region. Through the exposure gained, he has refined the approaches and methods that enable people and organizations to achieve higher levels of work place performance and quality of work life.

This course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted CPD guidelines. On average, this executive program contributes 24 hours towards your CPD.

Program Summary

Designed for professionals who are already well-versed in basic Six Sigma concepts and philosophy, this 3-day Green Belt Certification program will go deeper into Six Sigma concepts that will equip you with the latest tools and methods required to effectively lead teams to complete major projects, and be able to control and improve day-to-day quality of processes that meets the stringent quality requirements of Six Sigma. You will be engaged in extensive hands-on simulations and projects that will aid you in attaining your Six Sigma certification. Successfully adopted by over two-thirds of Fortune 500 companies to achieve world-class levels of quality in products and services, Six Sigma is a management improvement philosophy that continually strives for perfection. It focuses on reducing process variations to deliver consistent, measurable and improved results through the disciplined use of data-driven decision making.

 

Upon successful completion of this program, you will be a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and earn 24 CPD hours, which you can use in your resume and business card. On top of that, you will be able to work with Champions or Black Belts on the implementation of improvement projects. All elements conducted in the program comply fully with the industry-accepted standards of excellence, and the certification will be recognized internationally as a hard-earned symbol of achievement accredited by the prestigious Council for Six Sigma Certification.

DEFINE

Session 2: The Need for Robust and Capable Performance

Prioritization and opportunities for improvements or redesign

  • Working effectively in a team 
  • Project charter and plan

 

Project Exercise 1

Complete the Define phases for an improvement opportunity

 

 

Day 2

MEASURE

Session 3: Establish Process Performance Baselines

Define and identify process steps and establish current performance levels 

  • Process mapping and value stream 
  • Process performance and time values 
  • Measure and validate bottlenecks 
  • Measurement System Analysis 
  • Process capability analysis

 

Project Exercise 2

Complete the Measure phases for the improvement opportunity

 

Day 3

ANALYZE

Session 4: Validate ‘Root’ Causes and Develop Solutions

Identify and validate opportunities for improvement or redesign 

  • Relentless ‘root’ cause analysis 
  • Hypothesis testing 
  • Innovative solutions generation 
  • Risk analysis for trial implementation

 

IMPLEMENT & CONTROL

Session 5: Evaluate Innovative Solutions and Formalize New Performance Levels

Implement robust and capable solutions that sustain the new performance level 

  • Mistake proof solutions 
  • Visual SOPs and documentation 
  • Process control plans 
  • Embed improved or redesigned process in the enterprise
