Sushant Arora is the Regional Vice President for Darktrace in ANZ. Based in Sydney, he works closely with CISOs and IT experts to understand their unique security challenges, and how Darktrace’s Autonomous Response technology can help address these issues. Prior to Darktrace, Sushant held several senior leadership positions over his 20 years in the IT industry. Sushant holds a Bachelor of Information Science, Computing from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Mariana Pereira is the Director of Email Security Products at Darktrace, with a primary focus on the capabilities of AI cyber defenses against email-borne attacks. Mariana works closely with the development, analyst, and marketing teams to advise technical and non-technical audiences on how best to augment cyber resilience within the email domain, and how to implement AI technology as a means of defense. She speaks regularly at international events, with a specialism in presenting on sophisticated, AI-powered email attacks. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and speaks several languages including French, Italian, and Portuguese.

Lonnie Benavides is an accomplished cybersecurity leader with more than 20 years industry experience, and is currently the Head of Infrastructure and Application Security at OneLogin. Lonnie began his career as a communications encryption specialist in the U.S. Air Force and went on to conclude his military service as a Technical Lead of the first red team in the Air National Guard. As an advanced penetration tester, Lonnie supported companies such as Washington Mutual and JP Morgan Chase, and eventually went on to launch the Boeing red team. Lonnie was responsible for leading global cybersecurity services and operations at DocuSign and McKesson, fostering his expertise in enterprise cyberthreat detection and response. Lonnie is a recognized speaker within the Phoenix education community, numerous industry conferences, and has also contributed to publications and radio shows such as TechRepublic and NPR.

Dr Michael Brand is the Head and Founder of Otzma Analytics, a Data Science consultancy dedicated to maximising clients’ value from data by providing analytics upskilling, project review and executive mentoring. Before founding Otzma in 2018, Dr Brand served as Chief Data Scientist at Telstra, as Senior Principal Data Scientist at Pivotal, as Chief Scientist at Verint Systems, and as CTO Group Algorithm Leader at PrimeSense (where he worked on developing the XBox Kinect). Dr Brand also served as Director of the Monash Centre for Data Science in his role as Associate Professor for Data Science and AI at Monash University, where he remains an adjunct. Dr Brand holds a PhD in IT from Monash University, an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the Weizmann Institute of Science, and a BSc in Engineering from Tel-Aviv University. He has made industry-defining contributions that have earned him 18 patents (more pending), garnered many prestigious industry and academic awards, and power flagship products for the companies he worked with.

Dr Greg Adamson is a security professional specialising in financial services and healthcare. He is currently Chief Risk and Security Officer at Medikey, a personal data store which protects private health data of individuals. He has worked in industry, government, and academia. In 1993 Greg established the CISO role at the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service, and later Medibank Private’s secure gateway environment. For eight years he managed operational risk including cybersecurity for ANZ’s Transaction Banking, a $1.7bn business unit. He then became University of Melbourne Enterprise Fellow in Cybersecurity, where he remains an honorary Associate Professor. Greg has worked with professional ethics extensively at IEEE, the world’s largest technology professional association (420,000 members in 160 countries). He is Chair of the IEEE program Meta Issues in Cybersecurity. He has a PhD in e-business from RMIT University, and a Master of Commercial Law from the Melbourne Law School.

Hamish Hansford is the First Assistant Secretary of Cyber, Digital and Technology Policy in the Australian Department of Home Affairs. In this role, Hamish leads Australia’s cyber security and cybercrime policy, online harms policy including countering terrorism and child exploitation, encryption policy as well as technology security policy.

Immediately prior to this role, Hamish led responses to COVID-19 in the Home Affairs COVID-19 Task Force.  Hamish has also been the First Assistant Secretary of National Security and Law Enforcement Policy in the Department of Home Affairs where he delivered Australia’s first ever modern slavery act, surveillance, investigatory powers and lawful access reforms, as well as hardening of Australia’s counter money laundering, illicit firearms, terrorist financing and child exploitation regimes.

Prior to this, Hamish has held Senior Executive positions in the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and the former Australian Crime Commission. Hamish has also served in a range of intelligence, policy, planning, program delivery roles in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Attorney‑General’s Department, Australian Senate and the Office of Transport Security.

Her prime responsibilities are cloud security hygiene, container &  Kubernetes hardening and Edge Compute security. It is fascinating seeing how technology is expanding fast and impacting all the industries such as health, autonomous vehicle and smart cities. She see herself more as a doer to a talker and always aim to walk the talk.

She started her cyber career as a Denial Of Service Protection (DoSP) specialist and till now have had various roles and responsibilities around network and cloud cyber aspects and looking forward to new and future challenges.
