CEO, Cake Digital Bank

BeFinancial, a subsidiary of Be Group

Mr Nguyen Huu Quang has 20 years of experience in fintech, finance and banking and has a deep understanding of financial technology models, digital banking and financial and banking services. He currently holds the position of General Director of beFinancial, the business that coordinates the operation and management of Cake digital bank. Before that, he used to be the CEO of Trusting Social Vietnam fintech company, Deputy General Director of Retail Banking, MSB and Sales Director of Visa Inc. in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

Trusting Social was established in June 2013 in the US. This is one of the leading fintech companies in applying AI and big data to the credit risk assessment model, making credit rating faster and more accurate. Before Trusting Social, customers need a few days to be approved for a credit loan, and only 20% of customers have a credit history that meets the requirements from financial institutions and banks. Now, through Trusting Social technology, tens of millions of “unbanked” customers (who have never/or had difficulty accessing banking services) can now borrow money and the time from making loan applications to disbursement is only about 7 minutes.

Particularly at Cake, although it has only been established for more than 6 months, Cake has grown rapidly in both the number of customers and payment transactions every month. Cake’s strength is to help spread financial inclusion to the group of technology drivers – who are unskilled workers, have limited in time and often hesitate to make transactions at traditional bank branches, as well as serving customers in Be group’s ecosystem quickly and conveniently. Besides, many young customers who love technology and new changes in banking services have come to Cake. Cake’s monthly growth of new customers is among the top banks in Vietnam.
