Benjamin Seide, educator, researcher and media artist, lives in Singapore and Berlin and researches in the field of animation and immersive media. In the 1990s, Seide shot his first interactive 360˚ film with a self-developed camera and explored the then called cyberspace in his work “Paramatrix”. His work as a visual effects artist and supervisor from the 2000s contributed to award-winning films of renowned directors such as Wim Wenders, Roman Polanski, JJ Abrams and most notably the visual effects for Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo” (Oscar for Best Visual Effects 2012). From 2009 to 2013 Seide lived and worked in Shanghai and created the award-winning immersive experience of the General Motors World Expo pavilion. Currently his projects investigate artistic interpretation of cultural and film heritage in immersive media, including the full-dome installation “Fellini – Circus of Light”, the 360˚ film “Secret Detours” and the VR installation “Gone Garden”, both interpretations of a Chinese heritage garden in Singapore, and “The Spirit of Pontianak”, a VR installation of the lost horror film “Pontianak” from 1958. Seide is teaching courses in visual effects and immersive experiences at the School of Art, Design and Media in Singapore.

Prof Suresh is currently the Director, Centre for Healthcare Simulation at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLL SoM), National University of Singapore, the largest medical school in Singapore as well as the top medical school in Asia for 2017. He has been credited with the introduction and integration of simulation into the medical undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum and has designed extremely popular, well-received & highly rated intensive boot-camp simulation training programmes for graduating medical students. He has also been instrumental in developing simulation-based training programs that have been weaved into the mainstream curriculum, enhancing clinical education by correlating didactic teaching with experiential learning. He was recently awarded a grant to develop Virtual Reality Simulation Modules in Healthcare Education at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He has since introduced innovative virtual reality simulation modules into the medical undergraduate curriculum, primarily in Anatomy and Clinical Pathophysiology, to augment medical education, a world’s first. He has an on-going passion to pursue and constantly develop and integrate innovative educational pedagogies to enhance clinical medical education.

With regards to simulation faculty development and training, he served recently as Co-Chair for the 3rd Asia Pacific Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (APMSH Meeting) in Singapore in Nov 2016. In 2007, he was affiliated with Siemens Medical Solutions as part of his studies. MSc Computer Science).

Mr Kong Kam Yean is ST Engineering Electronics’ Vice President of International Business. In his current role, he brings extensive experience in Training and Simulation Systems to drive business development efforts and exports in overseas markets. Prior to joining ST Engineering, Mr Kong headed the Training and Simulation Group in the Singapore Armed Forces. He has wide-ranging experience on the development and management of a comprehensive range of training solutions, from enterprise IT for e-learning, simulators, training facilities to training services. Uniquely, he is able to combine learning science, training technology, and perspectives from both users and solution providers to develop strategic system solutions that enhance learning and education.

Mr Kong graduated with a MBA from the Singapore Management University and MSc (Defence Technology) from Cranfield University UK. He is certified by the Institute of Engineers Singapore(IES) as a Chartered Engineer in Systems Engineering. He was a member of Skillsfuture Singapore’s Training and Adult Education (TAE) Skills Council from 2014 to 2017.
