Timothy De Coster is currently the Group Supply Chain Design & Planning Manager for Asahi. To inform his strategies, Timothy conducts capacity and capability assessments for Asahi’s vast supply chain network, taking into consideration the different economic, political and social challenges each jurisdiction brings.

Timothy has 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, logistics and supply chain management in operational, tactical and strategic roles. In these roles, Timothy has been recognised for his skills in future proofing and leading continuous improvement projects for multi-echelon supply chains.
Having started his career in Belgium in Europe’s largest brewery, Timothy has taken on roles in Prague and Amsterdam before joining Carlton United Breweries in Melbourne in 2017. David Paynter is well known as a supply chain practitioner, consultant and thought leader.
Presently, David is undertaking his PhD at Swinburne University of Technology and in 2019 launched the monthly Digital Business Industry 4.0 Forum at Swinburne. He has lectured at Swinburne, RMIT and Victoria University in Operations, Enterprise Systems, Entrepreneurship and Supply Chain at Masters and Undergraduate levels.

Since undertaking his PhD David has become interested in the economic history of supply chains that have defined Australia, and the origins of successful home-grown value-added industry, in order to build Australia’s economic success by leveraging the opportunities presented by digital.

David has previously worked with leading strategy consultancy Booz&Co London and outsourcer Accenture on global and pan-European supply chain strategy development. Including global supply chain client work with LEGO, Johnson&Johnson, Wedgewood and British American Tobacco. Upon returning to Australia in 2010, David managed the end-to-end supply chain of Coca-Cola Amatil (SPCArdmona division) and worked with enterprise IT systems firm QAD on a global S&OP proposition.

Anna Reid has had over 15 years manufacturing experience in global FMCG businesses, with her latest role as General Manager for Asahi Beverages, which included managing 10 factories across Australia and New Zealand and producing over 130million cases of beverages annually. Anna has also worked for HJ Heinz and George Weston Foods in Manufacturing Operations and CI roles. Anna received a double bachelor degree of Engineering & Information Technology from the Australian National University, and is in the final stages of completing her MBA through Melbourne Business School. In 2015, Anna was named Victorian Young Manufacturer of the Year, and is a committee member of a number of educational sector and government advisory groups. Anna believes that manufacturing in Australia has the potential for a strong future, although it needs for us to embrace collaboration and value driven digitization.

Warwick began his career in academia, teaching Chinese history and European cultural history at Griffith University. He graduated with First Class Honours and is the recipient of the prestigious University Medal for Academic Excellence. Warwick was also awarded a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies at People’s University, Beijing. He deferred his studies to begin work for Kevin Rudd in the Queensland Government.

In Government, Warwick was Mr. Rudd’s personal private secretary and researcher before taking on the role of Advisor to the Minister for Mines and Energy. He moved from Government to private industry in 1996 and founded an economics and statistics research company. Having grown the business to 70 full-time equivalent employees in 3 years, he sold the business and began a career in pan-Asia investment banking.

He is the chairman and founder of Sister City Partners Limited, a not-for-profit investment bank focusing on developing links between regional Australia and the markets of Asia. Through this work, Warwick has experience in diverse industries including cattle and sheep production and processing, information and communication technology, infrastructure, energy, natural resources, travel and tourism, and property development.

He is a director of a number of funds management companies responsible for funds established under an ASIC-approved Australian Financial Services License. He is a member of the Central Highlands Accelerate Agribusiness Advisory Board and was the founding Treasurer of Innovation NQ Inc., a not-for-profit innovation incubator in North Queensland.

He continues to teach professional courses in areas such as innovation, creativity, regional economic development, and blockchain technology with James Cook University, QUT, and Edith Cowan University.

Burak Balki is a Director Operations and Engineering at DSV Canada. In Operations side, he manages the largest distribution center of DSV Globally which is 1.1M sq ft with 20 clients and 400 employees. In Engineering, he leads pricing, new business implementations and continuous improvement projects including automation initiatives.

Over the years, Burak has worked for several 3PLs and led numerous projects in over 20 countries. Some of these projects were automated solutions such as Pouch Sorter, Locus, VLM, Autobag and Automated Packline.

Terrence (Terry) started his supply chain and automation journey in the ‘80’s within defence in the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corp. Since that time he has been involved in warehouse automation with food manufacturing and more recently operations within a 3PL provider in Brisbane.

Terry has worked at all levels for international and domestic companies in defence, mining, FMCG, agriculture, manufacturing and 3PL. He has worked within most supply chain functions including warehousing, inventory management, procurement, logistics, fleet management, S&OP, operations, manufacturing, change management, consulting and training/development.

Terry has a Master degree in Supply Chain & Logistics with additional qualifications in business, management, engineering, training and development.

Terry is currently focusing on the Next Gen supply chain systems. He believes that when technology is ready, that Next Gen will be weight based and through the integration of systems logic to the MRP, will align the systems process links to ‘quality’ metrics and process-aligned dashboards. Terry’s aim is to develop systems intelligence that will alert stakeholders to events operating outside of expectant levels and with his industry background and roles played, is poised to provide Australian content to a global arena.

Terry’s recent achievements include the release of a book – Inventory & Other Grocery Items, and creating three online courses covering inventory management, warehouse processes and design considerations, and process measurement.
