Vicki-Lee Tyacke, BN, MN is the Head of School for the Nurse Education Team at the Universal College of Learning [UCOL], Palmerston North, NZ. Vicki-Lee is a New Zealand Registered Nurse and she has been teaching and working in higher education in the area of nursing since 2004. With the changing landscape of education she developed an interest in the digital fluency of students and educators and the evolution of the digital campus. Vicki-Lee is currently enrolled in a PhD programme with Curtin University, Austraila and her study explores the digital literacy of New Zealand secondary school students and their level of digital preparedness for tertiary studies.

Shayne Irving is currently Head of Technology at Edgewater College in Auckland and a Learning Experience/Innovation Facilitator, involved in supporting and developing staff in the melding of classroom teaching with online learning initiatives. In his role he contributes towards the school’s LMS, digital migration of assessment materials, moderation tracking systems, as well as integrating the look and feel of the schools built environment with the digital environment. Shayne originally studied Industrial Design and this is where his interest in the user-centric approach to learning stems from in his 25+ years in teaching. In 2001 Shayne received a New Zealand Royal Society Technology Teacher Fellowship. During this time he worked at the multi-discipline design company PHD3. Between 2010 and 2017 Shayne worked with a CNC manufacturer to create New Zealand themed wooden toys that sold in Te Papa and National Australia Gallery – Canberra. Other past experiences include a VEX robotics team manager and a NCEA Professional development facilitator.
